El Azteca Mexican Restaurant was founded by Griselda Enriquez, a single mother of three, who turned her passion for cooking into reality in 2015. Griselda brought the flavors of Chihuahua, Mexico, and New Mexico to Minot, North Dakota, offering authentic Mexican dishes made from scratch. After eight wonderful years, the restaurant transitioned to new ownership under a family member and former manager, who is now proudly continuing the tradition and legacy that Griselda started.
When the new owners daughter was born, we felt an even stronger pull to invest in the restaurant and re-open it to keep our family close and connected. This decision transformed El Azteca into a fully family-operated establishment, where we work side-by-side to bring local, homegrown service to the community we cherish. Our commitment to maintaining a local, family-driven atmosphere is at the heart of everything we do.
